Methane Emission from Flooded Soils of Rice Paddies in Rostov Oblast

چکیده

Abstract The methane fluxes to the atmosphere from rice fields in Rostov oblast (south of European Russia) are analyzed using results field chamber measurements. In addition measurements at stages seedlings and full ripeness, concentrations hydrogen sulfide, Eh, pH, density, moisture content determined water different horizons flooded paddy soils. flux a varies range 0.195–0.531 mg CH 4 /(m 2 h) is on average 2.1-fold higher stage ripeness as compared with seedlings. rate surface dry soils separating paddies 4.9–12.1-fold lower paddies, varying 0.034 0.045 h). After flooding Eh values decrease isolated by layer and, consequence, concentration increases well its atmosphere. According our assessment, total emission approximately reaches 1.253 t/day 150 t/year, which accounts for 0.4–1.5% oblast.

Characterizing Spatiotemporal Dynamics of Methane Emissions from Rice Paddies in Northeast China from 1990 to 2010

BACKGROUND Rice paddies have been identified as major methane (CH(4)) source induced by human activities. As a major rice production region in Northern China, the rice paddies in the Three-Rivers Plain (TRP) have experienced large changes in spatial distribution over the recent 20 years (from 1990 to 2010). Consequently, accurate estimation and characterization of spatiotemporal patterns of CH₄...

Mapping Flooded Rice Paddies Using Time Series of MODIS Imagery in the Krishna River Basin, India

Rice is one of the major crops cultivated predominantly in flooded paddies, thus a large amount of water is consumed during its growing season. Accurate paddy rice maps are therefore important inputs for improved estimates of actual evapotranspiration in the agricultural landscape. The main objective of this study was to obtain flooded paddy rice maps using multi-temporal images of Moderate Res...

Satellite data based estimation of methane emissions from rice paddies in the Sanjiang Plain in northeast China

The Sanjiang Plain (SJP), one of the major rice producing regions in China, is an important source of methane (CH4) emissions. However, there have been large uncertainties in the estimates of CH4 emissions from this area during the past few years. In this study, we estimated CH4 emissions using a process-based model derived by rice area, CH4 flux, land surface temperature (LST), and the ratio o...

Diazinon Accumulation and Dissipation in Oryza sativa L. Following Simulated Agricultural Runoff Amendment in Flooded Rice Paddies

Flooded post-harvest rice paddies were examined as systems for reducing diazinon (organophosphate insecticide) concentrations in stormwater runoff. Two paddies were cultivated in Oryza sativa L. and amended with a 3-h simulated stormwater diazinon runoff event. Initial diazinon adsorption peaked at 347 and 571 μg kg (3% mass load reduction) for mean above-ground plant tissue concentrations in e...
